The Georgian Bay Cycle For Hope
Collingwood Ride Routes

The Georgian Bay Cycle For Hope – Collingwood Ride returns for its third year on August 15, 2026, as part of the 15th annual Cycle For Hope fundraising event. With five scenic routes—from a relaxed 3K to the demanding 145K Unity Ride—there’s a ride for every skill level and every reason to get involved. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a casual rider out with family and friends, your participation supports something far greater: local cancer care.

In 2024, the Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre (GBCSC) expanded its reach with a new satellite location in Collingwood, delivering vital emotional, physical, social, spiritual, and educational support to residents across South Georgian Bay. By riding, you’re helping to ensure those services continue to grow and reach those who need them most, right in your own community.

I lost my mother to Colon Cancer and I was diagnosed with an osteosarcoma on my right pelvic bone. When I was diagnosed I felt fear. Fear of dying and not being around to enjoy my grandkids who are so young… not being remembered by my grandchildren. Fear of all the treatments. I struggled with feeling alone, with daily pain, with feeling like an outsider and being labelled. Trying not to be bothered by people staring at you in pity because you limp so badly. Having a place where I don’t feel like an outsider has had such an impact. Connecting with others who truly understand what you feel, and who offer support and encouragement has been so important. You travel so much for treatment and appointments and surgeries that it is important to have support close to home. Thank you, Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre for the difference you make! You really give people Hope!

Lori Chatham — Collingwood, ON

Having been a cancer patient, I am acutely aware of the impact cancer has on an individual and family’s emotional, physical and financial well being. As a cancer survivor, I look back at how much I relied on the strength and resources of my family and friends in the absence of available Cancer Support Services in the Collingwood area during and after my treatments. I am honoured to be associated with the Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre because I know how vital these services are and how they will bring comfort and hope to anyone impacted by cancer in the Southern Georgian Bay area.
