The Georgian Bay Cycle For Hope 2022 Routes
Whether you are an expert cyclist looking for a new challenge, or a novice wanting to get out with the family to support a great cause, we have a route for you!
All routes are carefully mapped by our organizing team of cyclists using their local knowledge and experience. And each route is guaranteed to provide the perfect blend of challenge and scenery.
Gold Route – 100 km
Ideal for experienced road cyclists, this route will feature challenging climbs, stunning rural landscape views and a well-earned rest stop.
Silver Route – 50 km
The Silver Route features a mixture of rolling rural countryside, some challenging climbs, combined with superb vistas along with a rest stop to recharge yourself.
Bronze Route – 25 km
Starting at the Penetanguishene waterfront, the Bronze 25KM route goes along the famous Rail Trail out to the 6th Concession in Tiny and back. This trail is moderately difficult, including short inclines and declines as well as some unpaved sections of trail that require care. It is suitable for all types of bicycles, but riders will need to take care riding on some sections of limestone screening.
Discovery Route – 10 km
This route gives casual cyclists and families an opportunity to experience the local scenery in the town of Penetanguishene on a nice ride out to Discovery Harbour and back.
Enjoy the companionship of fellow riders while taking numerous rest stops along route. All ages are welcome!
Family Fun Route
New this year: A family fun route through the Penetanguishene Rotary Champlain Wendat Park. There is no set start time — families can take part anytime between 10:00am and Noon. This ride will feature a fun Bingo-style Scavenger Hunt, as well as children’s activities along the route. Each family will receive a Bingo card at registration; the completed card will be entered into a draw for a Family Game Night prize! The OPP will be on site hosting their Bike Safety Rodeo, the Fire Trucks will be on the grounds, there will be additional fun and games for the children as well as a charity BBQ and live music starting at 11:00am. The ride is free of charge, but a donation to the GBCSC is encouraged.
